Mooresville Town Board recently voted to request Federal funds under the CMAQ (congestion mitigation for air quality) program to build a bike/pedestrian bridge to connect Doolie and Oak Tree roads over a Lake tributary, thus removing cars as an option.  This Town anticipates receiving funds for this bridge in 2012.  A second priority for CMAQ funds is to improve the intersection at NC 115 and NC 150.  The Lake Norman RPO is promoting a system of bicycle trails which ultimately will encircle the Lake, offering one of the most comprehensive bike systems in the Southeast.
